In Our Conversation Today, We’re Exploring:

  • The merits of and damage caused by putting a heavy emphasis on the power of mindset

  • Should we see happiness as a destination, the endgame, or just another emotion?

  • Our thoughts on models that outline how we should process events in order to have a more positive outcome

  • What our emotions and reactions to perceived negative events can tell us about the inner work we might need to do

Is happiness a destination you strive to reach?

Does an overly positive social media post make you want to throat-punch someone?

For about a year now, Eric has been wanting to talk about toxic positivity on the show, and it’s an idea we’ve tossed around quite a bit before deciding to finally bring it to you on the podcast this week.

We ultimately decided to start the conversation by talking about the stories and advice we hear specifically about the power of mindset, and how it can get confusing, confounded, and pretty damaging.

We also dive into the role happiness should play in our lives and work.
